Houghton Lodge fly fishing holidays

Houghton Lodge Estate is on the River Test. The Upper Beat of the estate is half a mile of River Test carrier; this beat is stocked with brown trout from the local fisheries. This area of the Test is also home to a good head of wild brown trout and good sized grayling. 

The Test Valley and water meadows surround the Test carrier making for lovely wildlife and views. On the bank, there is a summer house which is useful for lunch if wet. Or a BBQ lunch under the willow trees next to the water is a favoured option. 

Please note, that Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for syndicate rods and family days.

You may keep a brace of stocked trout if you wish. We ask that you make sure no wild trout are damaged when caught and put back carefully. All fish caught under 2lbs please return to the river.
