Jemima Grandy

Jemima has been fly fishing for most of her life, developing a passion for trout and salmon fishing from an early age. Many of her earliest fishing experiences were family trips to Scotland, as well as fishing on the famous River Test and River Nadder with her grandfather. These early days on the water sparked a lifelong love of freshwater fly fishing and the unique rivers and landscapes where these fish live.

In recent years, Jemima has spent much of her time exploring the renowned chalk stream rivers of Hampshire and Wiltshire, fishing for brown trout and grayling on some of the finest fly fishing waters in the UK. With these world-class rivers close to home, she has been able to develop strong knowledge of chalk stream fly fishing techniques and the behaviour of wild trout.

Despite having excellent trout fishing in Hampshire on her doorstep, Jemima still makes a point of travelling to Scotland each year to pursue one of her greatest passions — Atlantic salmon fly fishing on some of the country’s most iconic rivers.

Her love of fly fishing has also taken her further afield. Jemima has fished internationally in destinations such as Mexico, the French Alps for wild trout, and India, where she pursued the legendary Mahseer, one of the most exciting freshwater game fish in the world. However, in her eyes, nothing compares to fishing the Blackwater for Atlantic salmon, a truly special experience for any passionate angler.

At Hookafly, Jemima helps manage the operations and back office, ensuring that every guided fly fishing trip runs smoothly for clients. When needed, she also joins guided fly fishing days, bringing her own fly fishing knowledge and experience to help anglers make the most of their time on the water.
